Pastor Cheryl Armstrong of Fresh Harvest Church in Woodstock, raises her arms in worship during a recent Aglow meeting at the Conference Center in the Crystal Lake Holiday Inn.
"I'll Go whenever I'm in town," said Armstrong of the Aglow meetings, which take place every other month.
Beth Haines, a friend of Armstrong's, is the president of the Crystal Lake fellowship.
Aglow is one of the largest international Christian women's organizations with more than 3,500 fellowships in more than 151 nations.
The group began in 1967 when a small group of women decided to meet Christians without denominational boundaries at a hotel in Seatle.
"I believe in one church of Jesus Christ," said Armstrong, "and I think it's wonderful to meet with other Christians."
